In 2016 ADM Capital formally announced the Cibus Fund and in May 2017 held the first close at USD 101m. The Cibus fund have since developed a specialist team to look at the challenges and opportunities faced by companies in the food chain.
The Cibus Fund sources investments in nationally recognised food supply chain companies in Europe and Oceania. Utilising the Cibus Fund team’s expertise across geographies and sectors we aim to capitalise on these opportunities as we navigate the challenges associated with the business of food.
In trying to capture the essence of the strategy we leave you with a sobering thought, lifted from Lester Brown’s seminal book, Full Planet, Empty Plates:
“On the demand side of the food equation, there will be 219,000 people at the dinner table tonight who were not there last night”
ADM Capital was founded in 1998. We manage approximately $1.5bn on behalf of institutions worldwide, and seek to achieve long-term capital appreciation by investing predominantly in companies that are based in Asia and Europe.
ADM Capital recognises the changing landscape of food production, consumption and sustainability and made its first investment in the food supply chain in 2005.
