Conservis, Rabo AgriFinance Partnership to Connect Agtech with Fintech

December 6, 2018

A newly announced partnership between Rabo AgriFinance and Conservis will co-develop technology that will enable U.S. farmers to connect their real-time field and management data to their financial results.

The deal will join Conservis – a leading independent provider of digital farm management services, including planning tools, real-time data capture, and analytics capabilities to farmers – and Rabo AgriFinance, a leading financial services provider to U.S.-based agribusinesses and agricultural producers.

“Conservis works exclusively with leading producers internationally as we do, so they understand the complex business needs of our clients,” says Curt Hudnutt, executive vice president of Rabo AgriFinance and head of rural business in North America for Rabobank. “We are committed to connecting our clients to tools that might help them not only manage risk and finances but also the other challenges of managing a business. After extensive research, we feel confident in the Conservis farm management software and their hands-on approach to helping clients get the most of their product.”

Through this tie-in, farmers will be able to use the Conservis platform to unify and organize all data generated from different sources and platforms, eliminate manual entry, create successful business plans, manage costs and production, and will be able to generate lender-ready, up-to-date reports that can then be shared with lenders at Rabo AgriFinance. Furthermore, all farmers and managers that use the system will own their data and will have control of how information is delivered to Rabo AgriFinance.

“To have two companies already working with farmers pair up like this, so I can break down the wall between the mountains of farm data and my financials, is something great,” says Aaron Lee, general manager of Cornerstone Family Farms in southern Indiana. “No other farm management platforms have cracked that nut. What Rabo AgriFinance and Conservis are doing is at the forefront of what this industry needs.”

Together, Conservis and Rabo AgriFinance have created a position from where they can explore further developments and industry advancements in aspects such as benchmarking, integrations, and accounting software among other services, that can better serve farmers through improved decision making and profitability.

Given the economic conditions that farmers are facing, there has never been a more appropriate time to unite ag tech and fintech,” said Sherman Black, CEO of Conservis. “Rabo AgriFinance and Conservis have a shared mission focused on the farmer’s success and legacy. As a global leader, they are a great partner for us and our clients.”
