National Pork Board

Established by Congress and funded by America’s 60,000 pig farmers, the National Pork Board invests in swine research, farmer education and consumer information, promoting pork in the U.S. and abroad. We are committed to improving awareness of today’s food production practices through transparency and outreach to key audiences. Since their discovery, antibiotics have proven to be extremely valuable tools in curing disease – both in humans and animals. The National Pork Board is committed to helping others understand the important role responsible antibiotic use plays in producing safe, reliable and affordable pork for the supply chain of retailers and food service companies. Retailers and food service companies are often pressured by activist groups to adopt certain procurement policies. The National Pork Board can advise those companies on how a socially responsible procurement policy can be executed that demonstrates antibiotic stewardship while protecting animal welfare and maintaining an economical and reliable supply chain.
