The Army Corp of Engineers has issued a provisionary permit to KZO Sea Farms to build the first open ocean shellfish farm in U.S. Federal waters. The 100 acre operations will grow and harvest 100,000 pounds of Pacific Oysters and Mediterranean mussels to help offset the U.S.’s $10 billion seafood deficit.
