U.S. Wine Consumption Continues To Climb

According to the Beverage Information Group’s 2012 Wine Handbook, U.S. wine consumption gained for the 18th year, rising to 312.4 million 9-liter cases.  Domestic wines from California, Oregon and Washington did better than imports, however wines from Italy, Argentina, and Spain did well.  Total wines sales grew to $27.8 billion last year with on-premise sales increasing 2.8% over 2010.  By the end of 2012, the Beverage Information Group predicts U.S. wine consumption will reach 317.3 million cases.
