CranChile is the largest cranberry grower in South America, and is capitalized by U.S. investors. Until 2007, 100% of CranChile’s production went to juicing, until the company started marketing some alternative product lines and realized that cranberry raisins were attractive to agribusinesses as a cereal, snack and yogurt ingredient. Today 90% of CranChile’s crop is used to make cranberry raisins of which 95% is exported to Germany, the Netherlands, England and recently, China and South Korea.
