The Canadian government is investing US$1.3 million in 11 British Columbia (BC) aquaculture companies to encourage sustainable and innovative projects that will help ensure that the BC aquaculture industry remains globally competitive. The investment will go to three finfish and eight shellfish projects. There are approximately 740 aquaculture operations in BC with a total harvest value of US$534.5 million.
