The Ohio-based diversified agribusiness, The Andersons, which encompasses six groups – grain, ethanol, plant nutrition, rail, turf and specialty, and retail, has announced the launch of a venture capital subsidiary, Maumee Ventures. Developed to support agricultural and agribusiness startups, Maumee Ventures will be seeking opportunities to be an early stage, Series A/B investor in promising innovations in sectors that align with the group’s businesses such as renewable energy, grain supply chain, crop protection, and precision ag. The Andersons is currently fielding proposal submissions, and will be examining startups that can benefit from the group’s industry position and extensive knowledge in addition to, and beyond funding support.
