Update: Agtech Company, Agrible Closes $4.1 Million Series A; Joined by Flyover Capital

February 4, 2016

Agrible, an agtech startup that focuses on predictive analytics, announced it has raised $4.1 million in a Series A round of fundraising led by Serra Ventures and including Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), and joined by Flyover Capital.

Agrible Inc. produces predictive analytic tools using field-specific data and forecasts to be used by agricultural producers to help increase yields and profitability. In February of this year the firm launched Morning Farm Report, the delivery framework for its four predictive products – Rainfall, Field Intel, Tractor Time, and Yield Engine.  Through these reports, which farmers can gain access to through annual subscriptions, Agrible provides precise forecasts and data on topics including field logistics, rainfall, yields, growing degree days, and more, giving farmers not only real time information, but forecasts that give a grower actionable information for future decisions.

Under the structure of the round, ADM will help in the distribution of Morning Farm Report, and new tools will be taken under development.

“We’re excited to work with Agrible as they grow and continue to build on existing revenue channels,” said Dennis Beard, Partner with Serra Ventures, a seed and growth stage venture capital management firm focused on information technologies. “The relationship Agrible has developed with ADM represents a stamp of approval on the uniqueness of their products and vision. We have been excited about ag data opportunities for some time and feel that the Agrible team has the experience, ability, and technical know-how to be very successful.”

Leawood, Kansas-based venture capital firm, Flyover Capital, which focuses on investing in tech companies located in the U.S. Midwest, has joined and closed out this round of funding. Founded in 2014, Flyover is aiming to build the “next generation of technology success stories in the ‘flyover’ region [of the U.S.]”

“What Agrible is doing with Morning Farm Report is unlike anything we’ve seen in that industry,” said Keith Molzer, Flyover Capital General Partner in a recent press release. “We look forward to seeing what they can accomplish as they grow the team and the number of growers they help with their products.”
