Tradecorp Bolsters “Zero Residue” Efforts with IDAI NATURE Acquisition

May 31, 2018

In a move to position itself to offer integrated solutions free of chemical residues to producers and supermarkets, crop protection and nutrition company Tradecorp has acquired IDAI NATURE, a Spanish biotech company specializing in the production of biopesticides.  Tradecorp is part of the Sapec Agro Business Group, which in turn is owned by private equity investment firm Bridgepoint Capital. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Moving forward, Tradecorp will continue its work developing micronutrients, biostimulants, and other specialized plant nutrition products. IDAI NATURE, under the direction of its current management team, will continue moving towards “Zero Residue” solutions through biopesticides and another products.

Eric van Innis, Global CEO of Agro Business, said: “We now have a shared goal: to make IDAI NATURE a world leader in ‘Zero Residues’. To achieve this, we will deploy all the Agro Business teams. Tradecorp is a prime example of how this can be done successfully. Its sales have increased by 60 times since our acquisition, and we have developed worldwide the concept of plant anti-stress; we also expect to see exponential growth at IDAI NATURE in the coming years.”

The integrated “Zero Residue” concept synergistically combines four techniques: high quality and low toxicity plant protection products, precision biostimulants, specialized nutrition products, and natural biopesticides harmless to the user, consumers, and the environment.

According to B2B research firm MarketsandMarkets, the value of the biopesticides sector is projected to reach US$6.6 billion by 2022, with a CAGR of 15.43 percent. North America will be the leading market, followed by Europe.
